Sherry Ann Green Long


1937-2013
Our beautiful and cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Sherry Ann Green Long passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2013 at the age of 75. She was born to Francis Howard and Ruth Wilkinson Green on August 10, 1937 in Salt Lake City. Sherry graduated from Granite High School, attended BYU where she was proud to be a Cougarette and a member of OS Travano. Sherry was the executive secretary for Salt lake Fashion Exhibitors for 27 years. She loved the fashion industry. Her keen sense of style and her unique ability to organize were hallmarks of her successful career. Sherry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in a variety of positions and particularly loved serving as YW President where her influence was felt by many. She was currently serving as a guest service missionary at the Conference Center/Temple Square. Sherry was naturally outgoing. She was blessed with the ability to make friends everywhere she went and enjoyed many lifelong relationships. Sherry married Louie Long on March 26, 1978 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Sherry loved reading, knitting, shopping, football, decorating and family vacations to the beach. Sherry was kind, generous, friendly and selfless. She was a dedicated mother and wife who always put everyone's needs above her own. Her optimism, love, enthusiasm and smile were contagious and would light up a room. She had the unique ability to make whoever she met feel special, important and loved. We love you! You blessed all who knew you, especially your family. She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Louie Long and her four children, Louie (Barbara) Long, Scott (Jill) Wilmarth, Steven (Kim) Wilmarth, Allison (Phil) Graham, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.Funeral Service will be Wednesday May 22, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the Holladay North Stake (4395 South Albright Drive) there will be a viewing from 10:30 - 11:45 prior to the service on Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Tuesday evening at the church. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
